PISA and LUCCA TOUR

Pisa, located 10 km from the Mediterranean Sea, was first an Etruscan settlement, then a Roman colony and later one of the four ancient Maritime Republics. When a foreigner thinks about Italy, often the Tower of Pisa is one of the first things that comes to mind, a unique symbol, but Pisa is not only that: it has a beautiful historical center with narrow streets and large squares, Renaissance palaces, medieval house-towers and churches in Romanesque and Gothic styles. The Tower of Pisa is positioned in the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, declared UNESCO patrimony and the artistic heart of the city, made even more wonderful by the presence of several monumental buildings such as the Cathedral and the Baptistery.
Lucca was founded as a Ligurian settlement, later expanded as a Roman city, developed in the twelfth century as common and then a republic. The historic center of Lucca is still preserved as a witness of the past of a city rich in history, traditions and culture. It is one of the few cities to preserve its Walls of the XV-XVII century intact and they are about 4450 meters long.Besides the walls, visitors are pleasantly surprised by the narrow streets, the charming squares, from the particular towers and from the "one hundred churches." The most particular square that one can see is without doubt Piazza Anfiteatro, so called because it was built on the ruins of an ancient Roman amphitheater, still retaining the elliptical shape, and with its cafes and restaurants it is the right place to chill out.
